German Channel is an artificial reef near Koror, Palau, in the Philippine Sea. It lies within the Rock Islands Southern Lagoon protected area and is reached by boat. The channel is known for its manta ray cleaning stations, where manta rays are seen seasonally from December to March. Grey reef sharks and whitetip reef sharks are resident, and humphead wrasse are occasionally seen. Other occasional sightings include rays, schooling fish and nudibranchs. The best months to dive are November to April. A Koror State Rock Island/Dive Permit is required, costing $50 per person and valid for 10 days. Reef hooks used at the manta cleaning stations must be anchored to dead coral or rock only.
