Carnatic is a wreck site, a British steamship also described as a British-built steamer, built in 1862. It ran aground on a coral reef in the Red Sea and sank in 1869. The wreck now lies off Hurghada, Egypt, in the Gulf of Suez. It is reached by boat, with reported maximum depths of 24 to 27 metres, and the wreck measures 88 metres in length. It is historically considered one of the most notable wrecks in the Red Sea.
