The Salem Express is a wreck site off Bur Safaga, Egypt, in the Red Sea, reached by boat. The wreck lies to a maximum depth of 32 metres and is rated an advanced dive. The best months to dive are May to October. It is described as the most ethically complicated dive in the Red Sea, a site of tragedy that requires utmost respect. Rules prohibit looting, penetration of welded-shut areas, and flippant photography of personal belongings. Big reef fish, crocodilefish, devil firefish and moray eels are occasionally seen.
