Palancar Reef is a reef, wall and pinnacle site off Cozumel, Mexico, in the Caribbean Sea, within Arrecifes de Cozumel National Park. It is known for coral walls, swim-throughs and drop-offs, reached by boat and rated a beginner dive with variable current. Depths range from 15 to 34 metres, and divers must be accompanied by certified park guides. The site is closed in April, May, August and September. Corals and fans, and hawksbill turtles, are resident, while big reef fish, crustaceans, great barracuda, moray eels, reef sharks and southern stingrays are occasionally seen. Spotted eagle rays are seasonal, seen from December to March.
